Preventing problems and disarming disputes

We consciously opt for personal contact and the personal touch for our advisory services. We simplify complicated matters. This means our advice is aimed at preventing problems and disarming disputes. We support you in the strategy and procedure and give you an honest opinion on the feasibility. We provide an estimate of fees and benefits upfront. This way we help our clients avoid starting legal proceedings that have little or no chance of success.

According to our clients, we understand how the construction industry works. Even the technical aspects. The knowledge and expertise we have accumulated since 1926 makes us professionals with our own vision of the construction industry. And if your legal position is not strong, we will not hesitate to tell you. A no-nonsense approach, ideal for the construction industry. We have very long-term relationships with our clients and we are especially proud of this.

Tendering procedures, drafting and negotiating contracts, terms and conditions, strategy, disputes, managing complex construction projects: we provide the right legal answers in clear language and as concisely as possible.

We have been litigating for nearly 100 years, and we do this more than 100 times a year, in: the civil courts, the Arbitration Board for the Building Industry, the Netherlands Arbitration Institute, the ICC, or in other arbitration situations, as the need arises.

We prefer arbitration because the arbitrators have more knowledge and a greater understanding of construction processes. This contributes to a good result at manageable costs within a reasonable time frame. Unfortunately, our clients are not often in control of where litigation takes place.

Some law firms have standard teams of lawyers. We only do this if it adds value. It goes without saying that we regularly discuss the recommendations we make among our team. We do this for our own job satisfaction and not at our clients’ expense.

Our motto is ‘short, concise & personal’. Whether we giving advice or litigating, our internal processes are efficient. No lengthy legal research about peripheral issues, but recommendations which are as specific as possible. And that is good for you as our client.

Litigation and advisory work fees

We charge competitive hourly fees. All the advice we give is tailored to your needs and litigation is always unique. We can provide an estimate of the costs based on our experience. You will not only have an idea of the costs, but also the benefits, with our honest opinion about the risks.

We know about the construction industry

We manage our client’s expectations and we respond quickly. We give realistic advice and produce workable agreements and contracts. We aim to prevent and resolve legal problems with a personal touch. Our clients feel supported and helped.

What our clients say about our lawyers

According to our clients, we understand how the construction industry works. Even the technical aspects. They feel supported and helped and consider us to be the specialist in civil construction law.

‘I’d rather have as little to do with them as possible. On the one hand: they’re stylish and traditional, on the other: practical, fast and thorough. Because they are anything but stuffy and old-fashioned. You expect lawyers to be formal and conservative, but when I visited them, the Rozemond team were quite the opposite. Now I’m their biggest promoter.’

Ted van ’t Hek
Van 't Hek Groep

‘Pleasant, sharp and effective. Even though it’s nerve-racking, our humour helps us relax, and it’s always like that with Arno too. He knows us, knows how we work, and exactly what makes us tick. He knows our culture and speaks our language; in other firms I hear ‘I’m busy now, I’ll pass your case on to a colleague.’ Rozemond doesn’t do that, and that what I like about them. I don’t give up easily, and neither does Arno; our mentalities match.’

‘So far, we’ve won every case.’ ‘Their added value is worth every penny.’ ‘Rozemond is my first choice for cases I know will be tough.’
